Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to you on behalf of an Italian language school, Madrelingua, located in Bologna, Italy. As we are growing, and keen to contact new students, I am contacting you to introduce our school and also to develop linguistic, cultural and commercial exchanges between Australia and Bologna.

Madrelingua is pleased to be able to offer scholarships (100% or 50% reduction in the course price) in order to promote its language courses through Italian Cultural Institutes, Italian Embassies and Consulates, or through Italian Departments or Language Departments at Universities.

Our spacious and well-equipped school is located in a historic building in the very centre of Bologna. We offer high-quality courses at competitive prices. Levels of student satisfaction are extremely high, and we are constantly working to improve even further.

We will shortly be sending you some leaflets by post. We would be grateful if you would agree to display them and also include our school in any list of Italian language schools that your institution publishes or displays on its website.

UPDATE

ENDEAVOUR LANGUAGE TEACHER FELLOWSHIP 2009
During the Australian summer break current WAATI committee member Melissa Elpitelli travelled to Italy to take part in a language scholarship. The Endeavour Language Teacher Fellowship is an Australian Government initiative which provides opportunities for practicing language teachers in Australian schools to be immersed in the target language and culture through an intensive short term study program.
The program involved stopping in Singapore to meet 17 other teachers of Italian from all parts of Australia and arriving many long hours later to New Year’s Eve in Prato, Tuscany. All teachers were immersed in a two week course in Prato focusing on culture, linguistics and methodology. The study tour which followed included visits to Firenze, Pistoia, Siena, Assisi, Roma and Milano. In each city the group was given an extensive and informative guided tour by historians passionate about their local history, art and culture.
The trip was a wonderful opportunity to network with a range of teachers of Italian from every Australian state and territory and a great way to bring Italy back into the classrooms. It was a timely reminder of what an exquisite treasure Italy is and how privileged fellowship awardees are to transmit the beauty of her language, culture and traditions to our students and the wider community in Australia.
